Endometriosis Surgery

We provide endometriosis surgery at VIVA! GYN. Endometriosis can be a painful disorder in which the tissue that normally lines your uterus begins to grow and expand to the outside of the uterus. Symptoms include excessive bleeding and cramps, infertility, and pain during:

  • Periods
  • Urination or bowel movements
  • Intercourse

Although there is no cure for endometriosis, surgery will aim to eliminate its deposits and help with pain and infertility issues. Endometriosis is not a form of cancer, but it can increase your risk of getting ovarian cancer. During the procedure, a surgeon, like Dr. Palacio, can either cut out the endometriosis or destroy it with heat or a laser. The procedure usually lasts 30-45 minutes and due to the use of laparoscopic surgery, recovery time may be limited to a couple of days.
